Looking for the perfect city break destination that won’t break the bank? Look no further than Gdańsk, Poland. Tucked away on the Baltic coast, this gem of a city offers everything you could want for a memorable getaway. I visited last year and was blown away by the city!

Affordability

Comparable to Prague in terms of its quaint charm and reasonable prices, Gdańsk offers budget-friendly options at every turn. From accommodation to dining to transportation, you’ll find that your money stretches much further here than in many other European cities.

I spent just £174 in total for the 3 days including the train to stansted, flights, accomodation, food and drinks, transport transport in poland and spending money.

You can find flights for under £30 return from the UK, making it an incredibly accessible destination for budget-conscious travellers. Even better, my cozy Airbnb accommodation set me back just £50 per person for three nights, and it even had a spa in the building – talk about luxury on a budget!

Cozy Vibes

I loved Gdańsk for its warm and inviting atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. Wandering through its cobblestone streets, you’ll encounter charming cafes and picturesque alleyways ready to be explored. Two of my favorite spots were Drukarnia and Publiczna, both cozy cafes serving up delicious coffee at prices that won’t leave a dent in your wallet.

For animal lovers like myself, a visit to the local cat cafe is an absolute must. Spending time cuddling with adorable feline friends while sipping on a latte is the perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing.

Sightseeing on a Budget

No visit to Gdańsk would be complete without taking a spin on the Ferris wheel. For just £6, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the city skyline and the Motława River.

If you’re up for a day trip, both Sopot and Gdynia are easily accessible by train for under £10 return. We visited Gdynia, and visited the marina and the Aquarium.

Whether you’re a solo traveler on a tight budget or a couple looking for a romantic escape, Gdańsk offers something for everyone. With its affordability, charming ambiance, and wealth of attractions, it’s no wonder this city is quickly becoming one of Europe’s hottest destinations for city breaks.
